Royal Gorge Train

One of the fun activities we have been anxious here in Colorado is the Royal Gorge Train. When we were here in December we thought about it, and opted not since the boys were still small and not used to the cold weather. We thought that the almost three hour train ride would be too much for them.

We were excited to give it a try with Dan's parents in August when they came out here. In further research we discovered they had both indoor and outdoor cars, and with enough help could make this long train ride interesting enough for two little boys. Little did we know, we weren't going to have to do a thing. We just saw back and watched the wonder and awe they experienced on the ride.

As we pulled up under the Bridge we wandered out to the outdoor car to get a better view - and boy did we. It was absolutely gorgeous. We were situated between these huge mountains, and literally looked straight up on either side. Down beside us was a river, that contained many rapids and rafters. It looked like they were having a blast, and made Dan and I all the more ready to give it a try!

Towards the end of the trip we decided to come back inside and test out the boys skills in rolling their tongue. Here are some pictures of Nathan's attempts. He was determined, but couldn't quite get it.
