Bailey

It's amazing how kids pick up on things, and process so quickly. For more than a year the boys have been asking for a dog. Our standard answer has been, "When you get older." Then, when we learned baby #3 was on the way, it was, "When your baby brother gets older." They have always been content with that answer and seemingly understood why they had to wait.

Five months ago, after the ultrasound revealed their baby brother was already in heaven, Drew asked on the way home from the hospital if we could NOW get a dog. Dan and I were both still in shock from the news we had just received, and replied, "Yeah, sure. Someday."

Well, someday is today. Our little labradoodle Bailey is coming home!

Completely unsure of how the following 5 mos of grieving would go, Dan researched labradoodle breaders in the area. He found a gem of a breeder only to learn she had a litter due within a week of Caleb's due date. Eager for something positive and happy to look forward to come August, we put down a deposit.

We were able to go visit him two weeks ago, and secure which puppy would be our Bailey. (Yes, mommy got to choose the name. Thankfully all the boys in the family were on board with it.)
They boys were in love with him immediately and are eagerly awaiting his arrival in 2 days!
