Science Center Fun

We were so privileged this week to be able to go to the Science Center for free this week! Nathan joined his friends Ty ty and Keaton for a fun morning exploring the museum and being grossed out by the boogers, poop, burbs, and toots of the exhibits! Michelle, Ty ty's mommy had a couple extra tickets that she was willing to share with Beverly and I and our kids. While we were thrilled to watch the kids play together - we had a wonderful time as mommies visiting with each other!

Nathan wasn't quite sure of some of the exhibits, and the loud voices and large characters scared him a bit. One nose, that mirrored a faucet head was particularly scary, with the mucus ballooning from his nose quite frequently! YUCK! I am hoping that the pure terror Nathan had of the NOSE will keep him from picking his, or sticking anything else up there! (See previous post)

One of the favorite's was the Booger Blaster. The boys loved shooting balls into the nostrils with their air guns. Once the nostrils were filled with balls, it sneezed them all out! Too cute! I believe Nathan could have spent the entire day right there.
Both boys also loved the slide, otherwise known as the digestive tract. They entered in thru the mouth, and then slid down the esophagus, and crawled thru the stomach and out the, well, you know where. It was too funny! Nathan, again, we nervous about the enclosed space, so he opted not to go thru the entire digestive system, just the esophagus.

There was a wonderful play room with couches as well! We must have sat there for a good 45 min while the kids climbed and played thru the airplanes, space shuttle, cars, and trains! The train was a huge it, as was the space shuttle for Nathan. (He is really into blasting off these days).

The last part of the museum we visited, and another section we could have spent the entire day in, was Kids Town. It was incredible to watch the boys work together to pick the oranges off the tree, place them in the box, and then put them on the conveyor belt. It's so neat to think of their friendship, and the 3 years that they have known each other. What special friends, for both him and me!

Nathan discovered the mechanic area just as we were leaving, and was so sad to leave the car in multiple parts! Yes, they had a mini car up on the lift. There was a tool box, tools, tires, wheels, axle, muffler, fluid bottles for refilling - everything! I could have sat there all day and watched them work. Nathan was so serious about his work, and knew exactly what to do with each tool. Guess it's a boy thing!
