Well we found our little independent, almost five year old making breakfast this morning - pancakes to be exact. Having been up with Drew several times that night, Dan got up with the boys - only to find Nathan making pancakes.
He had the mix out, and had added the water. He had a few eggs on the counter and was in the process of getting out the hand mixer. When Dan reprimanded him for cooking without an adult, and said that he was thankful he hadn't turned the stove top on, Nathan looked at him and told him he was going to wait for Mommy or Daddy to do that. Whew! Glad to know he was going to remember that rule this morning!
