While in Bozeman, MT, we took a morning hike down into the Lewis and Clark Caverns. The boys were more than ecstatic for the hike, and mommy was terrified at the thought of encountering a real, live bat!
After a 30 min. hike up the mountain in the intense heat, we arrive at the top of the caverns. Thankful for our water, and the nice cool shade, we took a few minutes of rest before we started our desent into the caverns. They were very dark, cool, damp, and narrow. We stayed towards the back of the group, and were able to take our time, and some extra pictures throughout the two hour tour.
We hiked down over 600 stairs down, over the course of two miles, and the boys did fabulous. Their favorite part by far was the beaver tail slide! There were no stairs or other passage - everyone had to take the slide. Some of us went down faster than others, as I'm sure you can imagine.
