That's not cool....

Kids really so say the darndest things! Tonight was a picture perfect evening here in Colorado. The weather was perfect, the sun was setting and we had just had a delicious dinner. Dan and I were swinging in the hammock and the kids were kicking their big bouncy balls across the yard. (It's their version of soccer - our attempt to wear the kids out before bedtime).

It was the type of night that you want to take a mental snapshot of and remember for forever - perfect!

What would a perfect evening be without some laughter? Well, we got it. While we were swinging on the hammock the boys came over and joined us. Their combined weight of 50lbs shouldn't really make a difference on our hammock, but it did. We had all four been swinging on it for a while, when all of a sudden the 'S' ring bent and we all fell with a thud. For Dan, Drew and I the thud wasn't so painful, but for Nathan is was. He was climbing up the hammock and was on his hands and knees when the hammock fell. Poor kid was really hurting as the rocks dug into his knees and hands. As I rolled him off the rocks, he was crying/laughing and said, "That's not cool." Given the current situation it was absolutely hilarious - and it has now become a staple phrase in our house. I'm not sure where he originally heard it from, but it is now a part of our everyday vocabulary.
