This year, we were home in time for the 4th of July parade in Monument. Both of my parents have talked about this for years, and we were thrilled that we were in town for it, and that the boys were old enough to ride their bikes in the kiddie parade before the big parade. Grammy and Pop pop came over with supplies on Sunday after church, and we all had fun decorating for the big day on Monday!
Once we had completed the kiddie parade, we joined the crowd to watch the big parade. With Italian ices in hand we sat and watched as motorcycles, antique cars, tractors, wagons, horses, elephants, camels, and scooters all zoomed by. It was a marvelous parade, and despite the blazing heat we enjoyed ourselves!
After naptime, we headed over for dinner with Grammy and Pop pop. Grammy had quite the feast awaiting us, as usual - complete with cupcakes and ice cream. Over the last year, she has discovered the boys love for candles. So whatever holiday we're celebrating - there are candles on top of our dessert, including the 4th of July!
Earlier that afternoon Pop pop had found some baby bunnies in the bushes next to the front door. He caught them, and saved them for the boys to see. They loved them, and had a great time watching them, playing with them, and almost drowning them. We figured they were less than a week old. They were so incredibly tiny!
