As a means to keep Caleb posts together, I backdated this particular post. We actually went for our followup visit 4 weeks after we delivered Caleb.
The Doctor told us we'd eventually ask the "Why" questions surrounding the loss of our third child. In the moment, I didn't care. It didn't really matter in my mind. The end result was death, correct?
As she began to explain some of the causes though, it became very real that we needed to make sure that it wasn't a factor that ultimately could affect our oldest two boys. So we had them run tests, every test in the book to be a matter of fact.
Today we received those results: there was a knot in the umbilical cord.We could hardly believe there even was a reason. For many who loose children in the second and third trimester there is no medical explanation. In fact, over 60% run every test in the book, such as us, and find no reason at all.
