Two weeks before we were headed to the beach, we started a countdown. We were all so excited for our time together at the beach, that I sent my parents a countdown calendar. My mom used to do this for my sister and I when we had a special trip planned, or when my dad was traveling for an extended period of time. I remember counting out the sheets of toilet paper, or paper towels, writing the numbers on them, and tearing them off each day in anticipation for the big event. I thought it was only fitting to create one for mom and dad as they had such great anticipation for seeing their boys.
