Our first day on the beach was fabulous! From the moment Nathan woke up he was rearing to go to the beach, which happened to be right outside our window. We hauled all of our gear down to the beach, set up, and then watched the boys play their hearts out - Grammy and Pop pop too!
The one thing I absolutely love to watch is my parents play with the boys. I will never take that forgranted, and treasure each moment. I took as many pics as I could, and even video taped them playing in the ocean. What precious memories! It gives me a slight glimpse as to what my parents were like with me.

While my mom played with the beach balls, Pop pop played with the surf board. It was so cute to see him pulling them around - loving each minute of it! Nathan at first sat on it for his ride, but after ovserving the older boys soon laid down on his stomach. One thing he forgot to note in his observation was which was to lay. It was hilarious to watch him lay there, staring at the wave, and take it right in the face.....lesson learned - face the sand, not the ocean.

Dirt, give the boys some sand or dirt and they are in heaven! When they were done in the ocean, they came up to their digging hole that Pop pop and daddy had dug. The played and mucked in it for hours. It was so fun to let them just be boys, not to have to tell them no, or stop, or to constantly be nagging them - just to let the be.

Later that evening after dinner, Pop pop and Grammy took us golfing. All Nathan could ask about the previous weeks leading up to our beach trip, was to go golfing with Pop pop. This was our first adventure taking the boys golfing, and we were very thankful for the extra set of hands. Between the balls and clubs - it was a lot to keep up with! Drew was content walking around holding his golf balls. He typically had two or three in his hands at one time. Nathan, living up to his name, wanted to run thru the course, and do ever hole at least twice. He was so overstimulated he was nuts! It took every ounce I had to try and keep him restrained. Suprisingly though, this tactic worked. He hit two holes in one! Both Dad and Dan wished they had been so lucky on the golf course the following day.

Drew found the kicking the ball was more effective!

Drew was quite upset that he couldn't retrieve his ball on the 18th hole. Poor guy!
