Bike ride.

Following my long wretched day, the Lord blessed me with a wonderful Friday! Despite the gloomy Ohio-like day, the afternoon proved to be sunny and delightful. Dan was able to come home early from work, which has been rare, and we took the boys for a bike ride. Neither had napped well (see previous posts), so we thought a bike ride would wear them out, and allow us to put them to bed early! Woohoo!

As we rode along the bike trail the breeze was blowing, the boys were giggling and laughing, and I couldn't help but think to myself that life can't get better than this. It was like a picture out of a movie with a really happy ending. Here we were riding downhill under a canopy of green trees, with two little giggle boxes, and a loving mommy and daddy. It was beautiful and wonderful, and a moment that I don't want to ever forget! I wish there was someone there with a camera - although a visual picture could not have done justice to the emotion of the moment.

It was such a glorious day that we kept riding, riding, and riding. In fact, we took the trail all the way to Winter Garden (10miles from our house). We had thankfully brought a wallet, and stopped to get some dinner. Our return home was surprisingly pleasant as well. Not sure how the second half of the trip would go - we bought a couple chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies for a nice treat & bribery to sit still just a little while longer. We didn't need them though, they were two little angels just sitting right behind us. We even tested our fate by stopping at a playground about 4 miles from the house. We let them off to play for several minutes, and then made our way home. Four hours later we arrived - safe, sound, and exhausted!
