Over a year ago, my mother in law taught my boys to say UNCLE when they wanted to be let go of. At first I thought it was a little funny, and more of a locker room type of phrase to be teaching a 1 and 3 year old. Visit after visit she would reiterate, "UNCLE" and I just didn't quite get it.
Now, I do. And I am thankful she started teaching them "UNCLE" from such a young age. Only a mother of two grown boys would know the importance of that phrase. Being raised in a house of women, it was not something shouted from our bedrooms.
I constantly hear UNCLE all day long now, and am so thankful the boys know what it means, and to let go!
