Digging hole
My boys are boys and they needed a digging hole. Since moving here they have been digging up spots all over this year and frustrating Dan and I to death with it. It dawned on us the other day that they needed their digging hole back!
In Florida, we had a great big digging hole that they just loved to climb in and dig to their little hearts content. Since moving into a rental house, with a yard that we are to take care of, we weren't exactly ready to let our boys dig up a spot of it. Well, since we're here for another year - we might as well. And let's just say it's the highlight of the year! I even caught them at 7am outside one morning digging with their boots and winter coats on. They just love their boy time. With Nathan spending so many hours in school, he is definitely craving it....time to work hard, time to be creative and imaginative, time to invent, time to just run his fingers thru the dirt, time to just be a boy!
Our evenings where he has this time are much more pleasant. It's as if he's been caged and locked up all day and just needs to be free and get all that creative energy out. I love it. I love to watch them work together. There is no arguing or fussing; just teamwork and determination to get the job done.
My prayer is for that to remain for their lifetime. To work together as brothers without quarreling, using their minds and muscle for a common goal.
